Congratulations to our motherland for her
64th birthday!
October 1st is the anniversary of the
founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, and is celebrated as the
National Holiday all over China.
On this day back in 1949, the Chinese
people, under the leadership of Communist Party of China, declared victory in
War of Liberation. A grand ceremony was held at Tian’anmen Square.
At the ceremony, Mao Zedong, Chairman of
the Central People’s Government, solemnly declared the founding of P.R.C. and
raised the first national flag of China in person. 300,000 soldiers and people
gathered at the square for the grand parade and celebration procession.
October 1st, 2013, marks the 64th
anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Since initiating market reforms in 1978,
China has shifted from a centrally planned to a market based economy and
experienced rapid economic and social development. GDP growth averaging about
10 percent a year has lifted more than 500 million people out of poverty. All
Millennium Development Goals have been reached or are within reach.
With a population of 1.3 billion, China
recently became the second largest economy and is increasingly playing an
important and influential role in the global economy.
